Goodheart - captain of the category

Recently, it was announced that Goedhart has been named Captain of the Category 2019 in the bread and pastry category by their suppliers. For the 20th year in a row, the Captain of the Category study is being carried out on behalf of the journal FoodPersonality.

ANNUAL RESEARCH INTO THE LEADING SUPPLIERS IN THE DUTCH SUPERMARKET CHANNEL

The central question in this study is: “Which supplier has stood out the most in the field of category management and trade marketing in the past year and has thus provided the best support for its range group on the shop floor?”. In addition to assessing the most important product range categories, the respondents (supermarket entrepreneurs and business managers) also provide their views on the most important trends in the market every year.

Captain of the Category

The Captainship covers seven aspects:

  1. Good margins combined with a good product turnover rate, compared to other products in the relevant category;
  2. The implementation of promotions in the past year (spring 2017 to last spring);
  3. The innovation and innovation that the manufacturer brings into the category with the brands mentioned in the investigation;
  4. The frequency with which the manufacturer successfully adds new or renewed products to the category;
  5. The manufacturer's support for its brand or brands, in the media and “in-store”;
  6. The attractiveness of the packaging and the appearance on the shelf;
  7. Good product information to consumers, regarding issues such as fair trade, responsible food, health claims and ingredient specifications.
