SKAL
The demand for organic bread is growing rapidly. According to Bionext's 2024 Trend Report, bread & pastry sales grew by 25%. A healthy development for people and the planet, which, of course, we at Bakker Goedhart are happy to contribute to. In our bakery in Emmeloord, we bake all the organic bread for Bakker Goedhart. This location is fully equipped for organic production and has a SKAL certificate.
As a family business, we feel the responsibility to leave a livable world behind for future generations as well.

What is SKAL and what does it mean for a bakery?
SKAL is the supervisor of organic production in the Netherlands. The certification guarantees that a product has been produced in accordance with the rules of organic farming — without artificial fertilizers, chemical pesticides or genetically modified ingredients.
For a bakery, that means:
— control of the entire chain: from grain to end product
— transparent origin of all raw materials
— clear administration
— physical and logistical separation of organic and regular
— controlled processes that comply with fixed protocols
Why this choice?
Organic bread therefore requires more than just the right ingredients. It requires structure, discipline and constant control. Because we do all organic production in Emmeloord, we keep the quality high and the process transparent.
Sustainable and forward-looking
At Bakker Goedhart, we believe in the power of sustainable production. Organic farming supports soil quality, ecosystem and biodiversity. By opting for SKAL-certified organic bread, we contribute to a more sustainable food system. Not just for today, but also for the generations that follow. We also signed it Sustainable Wheat Manifesto. This is how we keep baking for the next generations.
