Goedhart obtains IFS Food 8 certificate
On March 12, LRQA carried out a central IFS audit against the new IFS 8 Food standard at the Goedhart Service Office. The Service Office as such does not receive a certificate itself, but during this central audit, the quality aspects that are centrally regulated for all bakeries were assessed. The outcome was positive, which provides a good starting position for our bakeries. The audits at the bakeries then continue where they stopped at the Service Office, in particular the practical implementation.

Procurement well organized
LQRA has looked at, among other things, our way of purchasing, in particular approving suppliers and controlling raw material hazards. This all turned out to be good for each other, mainly because of our systematic approach and our knowledge of the chain. “A transparent supply chain is an important quality feature of our policy. This responsibility extends to the miller,” says Janet Borgesius, General Director of Bread & Specialities.
Data in view
Data management, recipes and specifications were then examined. Correct data is essential to properly control the production process and provide the customer with the necessary information. Here, too, all the requested data appeared to be available. For example, all processed raw materials are traceable and our quality department provides our customers with detailed information about product origin and quality.
Flexible in product launches
Management, logistics, customer service, product development and our sales department were also examined - and succeeded with flying colors. “It's nice to see that Goedhart is able to introduce a good product that meets all customer requirements and wishes in a relatively short time. After all, that's what we do it for,” says Janet Borgesius.
Happy with central audits
She continues: “At Goedhart, we are very satisfied with these central audits. This is efficient, because various questions are not asked again at every bakery and effective because the central issues are asked to the responsible persons. This leads to better results and a more pleasant audit process at the bakeries. Clearly a win-win situation!”
About the IFS Food Standard

The IFS standard is a food safety standard developed by German, French and Italian trade and retail organizations. The standard is mainly aimed at suppliers to retailers in the food industry and aims to ensure the quality and safety of the food chain.
Products and production processes are audited to assess whether a food manufacturer is able to produce safe, authentic and high-quality products in accordance with legal requirements and customer specifications. Qualified IFS auditors working for independent accredited certification bodies carry out the audits
